Finally! Something to post about our new townhome...

We closed on Friday! It has been a long road to get to this point and even getting in the door wasn't easy. Let me explain.... Usually when someone closes on their home there are keys to give to the new owners, however since our house was a HUD property there aren't any keys except for the ones belonging to all the HUD realtors. So, we had to call a locksmith to come and rekey all the locks just so we could open the front door to get in! But we are in and have already started working. The flooring has been ordered for installation this Saturday and we have painted the living room. Matt is meeting with someone tomorrow about installing a new sliding glass backdoor. We have 11 days before moving day to get everything done! There's gonna be a lot of long nights ahead for us.... I will try to keep you updated : ) Here are some pics.....

New Home

Matt and I are in the process of buying a new little townhouse. We hope to close by next month and start the renovations soon after. It's going to be great! We are very excited and ready to start a new chapter in our lives together. We will be painting the walls, putting down new carpet, adding molding and chair rails, and attempting to put in a laminate floor in the kitchen all on our own. Please let us know if you want to help.... I think we will need all the help we can get : )

The house is two stories with 2 bedrooms and 2.5 baths. Both bedrooms have walk-in closets and full baths. The kitchen is small, but has an island and is directly connected to the outside patio (very convenient for cook outs). The kitchen will need new knobs on the cabinets and updated appliances. We are looking at changing all the door knobs in the house, as well as changing out all the lighting, and eventually putting up a fence. Otherwise, its ready to go!

Here we come... Mortgage, taxes, homeowners insurance, and HOAs! It'll be worth it to finally be homeowners living in our first home together.... Memories for a lifetime : )

New idea...

Think I am ready to slow down on facebook.... Matt and I have some pretty great things going on in our life that we'd like to share with our family and friends and facebook seems to be getting a little busy. I will be trying this out after the Holidays are over... : )
